A:Answer The sound bar by itself - if you look at how thin it is - produces a pretty amazing "quantity" of bass... it will give you some thump and rumble... but I would not say good or great bass quality. It's thumpy, and exaggerated, not tight, clean, musical bass. Adding the sub just gives you "more" bass, not "great" bass. Most people today can't really tell - they seem to think bass means that it booms. Great bass means tightly controlled, accurate bass notes, not just boom-i-ness. If you ever heard a car go by making that BOOM BOOM sounds there the trunk lid rattles, and though to yourself, "Wow, great bass," you might like this. Even the sound bar by itself gives you some of that.
