Q: QuestionI am wanting to recess my existing wall so that this refrigerator doesn’t stick out as much. I’m concerned about having enough space for proper airflow. Can you tell me where the vents are located and how much space I need between the wall and the vent?

• A:Answer No notable vents in the rear. There's one vent on each rear side, one left, one right. GE says it needs 1/8 of an inch of clearance, on the sides, for proper ventilation.

• A:Answer Yes, the lower freezer door is very reasonably priced at GE's online website. The only downside is buying it through GE, they'll only sell it through service. So that means having to pay them to install it. Not sure what the installation charge would be, but knowing GE, it shouldn't be too bad.
