It doesn't have a CD player. Other than that it's "just like a normal computer" according to my son. I would check out its storage capacity which is rather small, so even if you could store files, it couldn't hold very many songs.

No insult intended. This Kit is essentially a Raspberry Pi and case and power cable. It will hold and playback music or any other media, but to do this, you will need to write some code, or at the very least find some code and upload it to the device to make it work the way you want. If you are not afraid to learn something new (and probably fail a few times before you have it up and running) then have at it! But if you are looking for a "plug-n-play" device; you will not be very happy with this purchase.
