- Answer Yes. This actually takes great pictures in low light situations. I like to take portrait pics during the whole sunset time. The pics come out nicely. I also like to use background blur when taking pics at night in an area with lots of lights, like strings of lights to get the cool affect of each light in the background. Very fun lens to play with.

- Answer This lens has a fixed focal length of 50mm. It is not a macro lens, so if you are trying to use it for that, probably not. But we use it for item and portrait photography, and it does work extremely well for that. You just have to adjust how far away you stand and modify your flash accordingly to compensate for the fixed position.
