• A:Answer I personally prefer to use a laser printer for my routine document printing. I purchased the iP872 mainly for the photo printing especially the 13"x19" print format. With all the proper ink cartridges installed this printer prints documents very well. I do not see a need for an additional document printer. With that said if you print a large amount of plain paper documents this printer will not print them as fast as a laser printer or monochrome ink jet.

Q: QuestionCan you print on 110 lb paper with this? Or watercolor paper? I am hoping to create watercolor prints to sell and am not sure if this will work or if I need to go to the next model up.

• A:Answer I haven't tried a paper weight that heavy, but I have printed on 64 lb on a Canon Pixma ix800 that's similar and it printed beautifully, even though the maximum weight they suggested was only 28lb. I used a variety of heavier weights because 28lb paper was too thin for the high pixel pictures I was using this printer for and the results were great.

• A:Answer I definitely think it would do perfect for this. If you haven't done so already, check out the maximun pixel capacity this printer is capable of and you'll see that it's exactly twice that of almost every other printer in this price range and even higher priced; I couldn't add up all the printers I've owned in the past 15-16 years and this one, (and the other Canon Pixel ix800 I've used) is, by far, the best one. I print out art prints whose pixels are high, as high as 6500 x 5000, and the quality is unbelievable, absolutely striking.

• A:Answer It will only print up to 13 inches wide. And 13 x 19 is the biggest it can print. I am a screen printer and 13 inches wide on a shirt is pretty big. I’m sure you found the answer three months ago but here it is for anyone else.
