The grills come off easily and yes, the speakers can be used without them. It will not affect the sound one way or another. Although, some true audiophiles prefer to listen to their speakers with grills off. These are not audiophile speakers.

Can you please believe this? They are a wonderful excellent product, Cerwin are a signature item 100% ! Love them so much,
