- Answer I have a cheap Cobra radar detector just like the one shown here and it works really good, if you're passing your local 7-Eleven and the tones going off for the automatic door opener it automatically gets superseded by the KA band if there's a highway patrol trying to get your speed.... I've had my ka band go off several miles out ahead of me while the highway patrol was behind the semi truck up over a hill, these work better than people give them credit for.

- Answer Hi. This detector comes complete with a power cord for the lighter and a windshield cup mount. (the cord is not a charger, per se, as the detector must be plugged into power to operate). Thanks!

- Answer Thank you for your question. The RAD 380 can be mounted on the dash with the included Dashboard Adhesive, however, we recommend mounting centered on the windshield for best performance with clear line of sight.

- Answer The RAD 380 can detect speed cameras that use X, K, and Ka band radar signals. However, it won't detect fixed speed cameras/red light cameras that don't use radar or laser. If you need help choosing the best radar detector option for your needs, please contact us at 800-543-1608.

QuestionDoes this pickup speed cameras? I’ve never used one before

- Answer The Rad 380 may pick up speed cameras if they are using radar. However, some different Cobra models will alert to speed cameras based on a saved database of known speed camera/speed trap/red light camera locations. Rad 380 does not have that ability,so it is possible to miss some speed camera alerts with this model.

- Answer Thank you for your question. A police car cannot be detected unless the car has radar actively transmitting. The RAD 380 can detect stationary and handheld radar devices, as well as LIDAR and VG-2 RDD.

QuestionThe fitment guide says it’s not compatible with my car (02 highlander) but i was under the assumption this is just plug in to the cigarette lighter and play. Is this part vehicle specific?

- Answer It requires 12V If your vehicle has a USB outlet you may be able to use it with a USB to cigarette lighter adapter which are inexpensive.
