• A:Answer Yes, with a hardwire kit connected to the OBD2 port of your vehicle (Model: 0010070-1) or connected to the fuse box (Model: 0010073-1) the camera will have power when the car is off and capture parking mode events. If your camera is connected to the internet with an active subscription, it will also send a text message to your phone if it detects a break-in. All dash cameras require hardwire kits for parking mode recording in order to draw power unless your vehicle comes with an "always on" CLA port.

• A:Answer Thank you for your question. Your speed can be recorded but this setting can be adjusted through the Watermark setting, if you prefer to turn it off. This setting allows you to toggle having the speed, date/time, GPS coordinates, the Cobra logo and a custom Driver ID be stamped into the bottom of all of the recorded videos.

• A:Answer Thank you for your question. Yes, as long as the camera is connected to power and on, it will record and save recordings onto the provided SD card. Video recordings can be accessed in the Gallery through the Drive Smarter app.

Q: QuestionExplain what a supercapacitor is. Is there no cable to plug into the cigarette lighter or the car battery?

• A:Answer Thank you for your question. A super capacitor would store energy similar to a battery, but with no actual capacity or a much smaller capacity than a battery would. Something that would last only for a few minutes max. It is much smaller and does not hold a charge for more than that short time but, also charges at a much faster rate. The SC 250R includes a vehicle charger for power.

Q: QuestionCan the rear camera be mounted outside the vehicle, or underneath the vehicle rear bumper? Or is it only for inside the vehicle? I guess is it weatherproof?

The app also integrates with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for added convenience. While the camera itself does not detect radar, you can receive shared/community radar alerts through the Drive Smarter app when your dash cam is paired via Bluetooth.

Q: QuestionI will only use a Suction Cup mount and many cameras do have them as an accessory. Is there a SUCTION CUP MOUNT available for this camera. I have been in the Cobra site and it is very unclear. Suction cup mounts are available for other Cobra cameras.
