Q: QuestionIs anyone else getting a higher than normal drain on their car battery from using this remote start? My car battery (new) gets drained in about 5 days and won't start.

• A:Answer There will be some additional current draw with an aftermarket remote start, but it shouldn't affect the vehicle that much. If you have a Drone module, or a Compustar security add-on, the draw will increase. The LED that flashes on the antenna can be disabled in programming, if you want to further reduce the current draw. The draw can be measured by a technician if you think it is excessive.

• A:Answer This will work on an Audi A5, however, one key will need to be relinquished to integrate the remote start. This is true of all Audi/VW vehicles when not using the Idatastart module. Also, this control module (the DC3) will only work with automatic transmissions.

Q: QuestionI lost my manufacturer FOB to a VW Touareg. This compustar system is more affordable and has more features than what the dealer will provide. Would this system work without the original FOB? It seems like a good replacement with upgrades.

• A:Answer Most remote starts require you to sacrifice a fob when installing in a Volkswagen. Therefore, you would need to give one up at the time of installation, and still have another to operate the vehicle. The exception to this is the Idatastart VW/Audi-specific remote starts. They allow some VW/Audi models to remote start without the owner losing a key. Check with your local install bay to see if yours would qualify.

Q: QuestionI have some problem with the receiver in my car so unlocking the car with the key fob doesn't work (it sometimes works but it mostly doesn't). so I have to use my physical key to lock/unlock the door. Can I still install this product and will it fix it?

• A:Answer No. You need the drone add-on for that option which is not included with this (can be purchase separately). There is a bundle option that BB also sells which is currently $600 but that also goes on sale from time to time from $300-$350. With the drone, you would still need to pay a subscription fee.
