- A:Answer Updating the ram won’t make the computer overheat. Sounds more like a bad fan or cpu cooler. This will definitely make the cpu run cooler though especially if he spends a lot of time gaming

- A:Answer This will work on a 1151 socket board just fine. The bracket for Intel boards is adjustable and allow you to use it on most of their boards.
