- Answer Yes I can I have the app on both of my phones which are on the iOS platform and Adnroid. They both work just fine.

- Answer If you are a little tech competent and willing to call D-Link support and have them step you through the installation then you can install it yourself. IF on the other hand you are afraid of and don't use computers at all including smartphones then you might be best to have it installed AND you will need training on computer use and smart phone use. A basic understanding of computers, internet apps, WIFI, etc will be needed or you will be frustrated and return the camera to Best Buy. BTW, having worked with computer software for 50 years I have a short attention span for difficult installations and usage of software and I was ready to return this camera because of the difficult installation. My hard of hearing issue made D-Link/phone support difficult but my smarter half talked to D-Link support and was very happy with their assistance, she is a novice with app installation. We like the camera with the only post installation problem being our DSL router hang up causing the camera to go offline. Avoid this by putting the router on a timer and power it off/on once a day.

QuestionWhat is the advantage of this over the DSC-5222 pan & tilt model?Since this product is newer I suppose it has better technology - T or F? Is it simpler to set-up or operate than the Pan & Tilt? I had one of those and it never would pan correctly. It is, by the way, much more expensive at this time with the DSC-5222 on sale.

- Answer I have both models, and each has its advantages. The DCS-2630L camera has no wired network port, making it a little more challenging to set up at first. It has a wider viewing angle (180 degrees) which means almost no need to pan the camera left or right to view things, and has 1080 resolution resulting in a better image (although a bit rounded because of the 180 degrees). The DCS-5222L, though, has an easier setup and a more reliable network connection. My DCS-5222L records flawlessly to its micro SD card, while the DCS-2630L has yet to recognize the same, exact model of micro SD card. I am hoping D-link will fix this with a firmware update.

QuestionIs it compatible with IPV6 protocol?Is it compatible with IPV6 protocol? My wi fi provider is 100% on IPV6 (I previously tried a Foscam and that didn't work).

QuestionCan the DCS-2630L connect to a 802.11n router?I see the specs say it connects to 802.11ac router but I purchased a 802.11n router two years ago. I don't feel like spending more money to replace a really good router. I'm hoping this can connect to my 802.11n router

Questionwill this product work with captive portals?My mom lives in assisted living facility and they only have access to captive wifi portal. I need to know if this camera will work through a captive portal. Since i will not have access to the camera on a daily basis and would need to view live online.

- Answer Unless you know the IT guy and you can talk to him about what protocols that they allow and which ones they block, chances are you will not be able to stream video through their captive (private) network. You could always try it and if it doesn't work return it
