• A:Answer As I understand your question, yes the hinge is on the front of the unit If you look at a picture of the unit you will see a post on the left side. the post is approximately 1 1/2 inches wide and the door of the unit mounts on it. That is included in the overall width of the unit( 29 1/2 inches) and the door mounts on the right side of the post.
