Any modern solid state drive will work fine with this product. Only restriction is that it has to be 7mm thick, which is a standard in today's SSD, but just look for the thickness nonetheless in the SSD specifications. Youtube instructions for removal, its very simple, remove all screwed on the bottom and un-clip the bottom cover around all 4 edges, you will see the HDD immediately remove 2 screws attached to the drive cage and additional 4 screws on each side to remove the HDD entirely. Installation is reverse steps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I replaced the slow 5000RPM drive that came with it with a Samsung - 850 EVO 500GB SSD drive I bought from Best Buy on sale for less than $200. The physical swap was easy. Instructions are available on YouTube. I had access to a drive cloning device so once it was duplicated I swapped it and it booted right up IN 14 SECONDS!!!!! If you don't have a disk duplicator you can use a 32GB or larger flash drive and the Microsoft Create USB Recovery utility and the backup utility to rebuild/restore your laptop after the drive replacement.
