I had my machine connected to this monitor and a 4k TV and Gsync worked fine on the monitor.

No, it would not be good for editing 4k video. The maximum resolution this monitor can attain is 2560x1440 - thus, you can't even view a video in 4k as it would automatically be reduced. G-Sync has to do with monitor hardware and graphics card. If your GPU supports G-Sync, then having a second monitor that does not support it will not affect the first monitor's G-Sync capability.
