QuestionI am a photography student and I'm needing a laptop that can handle a lot of pictures and editing programs such as photoshop and Lightroom as well as Microsoft office. Would this be a good laptop for me?

- Answer Hi! For photography, this will be okay. It won't be GREAT but okay. The only reason being, is because you might need to have more CPU power for things like Photoshop. This will definelty work! But if you can spend a little more, try and go for a laptop that has a i5 Quad Core in it.

QuestionIf I attached a wireless mouse and keyboard, and then plug in a monitor, will I be able to run the laptop while it's (physically) closed? Or does closing the screen automatically close it down or put it into a sleep mode.

- Answer If you go into settings/system/power and sleep/additional power settings/choose what closing the lid does, you can choose "do nothing". Now your laptop display will stay on when you close the lid.

- Answer I would have to say no. The webcam is not high quality, and there is no dedicated graphics card. You need to have a higher budget for the uses you're intending.

- Answer yes. just take your receipt to best buy and ask for a price adjustment. you don't need to bring the laptop. just the receipt and they will credit you the difference.

- Answer Yes Definately! I'm a college student myself, so I can definitely vouch for the computer (I'm actually a grad TA right now, so I've done a lot of college tbh). I'm enjoying it and glad that I got it. Fun fact, I didn't think I'd need the touch screen, since I'm a pretty basic and practical girl... but man do I like being able to use it to scroll and click on things when using the mouse for extended periods is a hassle!

QuestionI want to convert VHS to a disc but want to edit them down (splice and so forth) on the laptop. Does this laptop have that power and what software would be compatible to do this?

- Answer I think it would do the job. I don’t know what software would do it though. I got mine and put LinuxMint on it and it runs like a Beast. I will be updating the memory to 16gb and it will handle 32gb of memory. It is a great base model to use though.

- Answer I would check the software you are using for the recommended system specs. Typically this type of system would only do basic editing. If you need high rendering ability, then this would more than likely not be a preferred choice. As for software, it does not have anything included for editing at this price point other than trial bloatware.

- Answer No. I bought this as a backup. While i fix my main PC. For gaming you need at least an an. 6th generation I5 Cpu. I don't know much about AMD processors. Right now intel is on the 8th generation Of I5 processors. There are a lot of older generation I5 Cpus being sold in new pcs. So let the buyer beware. I h ope that this helps.

- Answer It has Windows 10 which slows down operation time, either chose an extra ssd and install windows on ssd or you can remove/ disable windows 10 unused feature. Playing games shouldn't be a problem.

- Answer I recently bought this model from BB and it is "N" only on the 2.4ghz band. I've seen very similar models from other seller's that states "AC". But usually the price is much higher as well.
