I had the same problem: I switched the BIOS boot option to boot from the 960 EVO (and even removed the HDD option), but it booted to the original hard drive. I fixed it by going into disk management (right click on start), right click the new drive at the bottom, and set it to "Online." It should be recognized then, and after a reboot it'll cruise! (I had already installed the driver and cloned the hard drive by this point.)
