It can also be controlled, mostly, through the "Denon 2016 AVR Remote" app found on Google Play. I read that there's one on the Apple store as well but I don't have an Apple device to verify it. There is also the HEOS app to consolidate all your streaming options into one place and bluetooth it to the receiver.
The android app works well enough, provides ton of superfluous information about what's going on with the system, but can be a bit quirky at times.
If your receiver is on the opposite side of the house from the internet router, I would recommend using a wired ethernet connection either via direct wiring or via a powerline extender. It lessens the chance of quirky disconnects and firmware update fails.
