• A:Answer Hello. Yes - the DP-29F has a built-in phono pre-amp. The DP-29F can be connected directly to powered speakers if the speakers have an analog input (most powered speakers do). If you have passive speakers, an amplifier will need to sit between the turntable and the speakers from a connectivity point of view. The amplifier powers the speakers.
