• A:Answer That's exactly what I bought the video cable for, to hook up devices to my old CRT TV. That way, I can turn on either old content or so-so TV programs on my old TV, which should extend the life of my HDTV somewhat for viewing the really good stuff. I got the male-to-male connectors (that is, male plugs on both ends).

• A:Answer Most DVD players accept this type of chord. Yellow being for the video and the others for the audio. If your player has HDMI and your TV supports HDMI as well I would go that route. Most devices are switching over to HDMI just like most people are switching over from DVD players to Blu Ray. Technology upgrading at its finest.
