- Answer Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. When your machine is in the upright position, you'll notice that if you lift the wand cap, you'll feel suction. In the upright position, your wand and hose are ready for use with any of the included attachments. When your machine is reclined, the suction will switch over to provide suction at the base of the machine. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

QuestionHow do you remove filters to clean them?

- Answer There are 2 different filters that are pretty easy to remove. The process is covered very well in the manual. One unscrews from the ball and the other pops out of a compartment on the main part of the vacuum.

QuestionI owned a Dyson DC25 for over 12 years. It needed replacement parts & maintenance. Cust.Srvc. told me my best option was to use my $100 disct. to buy a new Dyson direct. Question, now I'm ready, butwhere can I purchase a new DC25 online or in Alaska?

- Answer It doesn't disconnect, you have to pull the top of the handle up and slide the tube out until it is fully out and clicks into place.

QuestionWanted to know if this vacuum is good for vacuuming long hair (human not dog). My daughter has extremely long hair that gets everywhere. Want to make sure the rollers can handle it and is it a tangle free roller.

QuestionI have a Dyson ball compact vacuum. When I try to use the hose portion is does not have much suction. Are you supposed to change something on the vacuum to get more suction in the hose?

There is nothing you need to change in order to have equal suction in this hose. From what you are describing it's possible you may have a blockage within the machine. - Answer Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Your DC40 Multifloor has 200 air watts of suction power; the Dyson Ball Multi Floor that you are looking at has 270 air watts of suction so that will be the first thing you notice. Performance wise, both are going to be very similar. Both models have Dyson ball technology, a self-adjusting cleaner head and the ability to turn the brush bar on/off. The model number of the new machine is a DC65/UP13. It's not the newest released Multi Floor upright, but it's still one of our best-selling Multi Floor models. The "animal" tool that we have for our uprights would be the Tangle-Free turbine tool, which will attach to the wand/hose of this machine and is available to be purchased separately. QuestionI am looking at purchasing this product but wondering if it is like my other upright in that as soon as I try and use the hose attachment the vacuum falls over.. Is that the case with the Dyson (I have never had one before).

- Answer It has a filter that does not need to be changed. Just take it out every six months and clean off any dust. Put back in and you are good to go.
