• The cable is 27" long tip to tip, but connected its 26 1/4" long.

• I gave this as a present for Christmas but if I recollect you plug your memory card on one side and then plug the gadget (adapter) into the destination usb port, lets say on your pc for example.. As I said I may be wrong but I don't think there is a cord with it. If I am wrong I apologize.
