QuestionI’m having issues with docs scanning too large of a file to email. I’ve adjusted the pixel and compression and still no change. It’s including the page background. How do I adjust?

- Answer Hello ChrisJ. File size can vary based on how many pages are scanned, the file type, and image quality settings. Additionally, your email provider could also limit the allowed file size when sending an email. We recommend trying a different file type to see if you continue to have the same issue. - Answer Hello DeltaTerrii. Yes, the ES-580W can automatically scan both sides of an 8.5" x 11" page and save it in PDF format. QuestionCan I scan items (receipts, checks) and send select data to specific cells in an excel spreadsheet? In other words, can I scan the information into a database rather than enter it manually?

QuestionDoes the ES-580W have internal storage that retains images of scanned files? If I have to return it for any reason would anyone have access to what I scanned?

- Answer I would assume the only stored image would be the last scanned document, but that's a question for the mfr. Scanning a blank sheet of paper would clear this memory so long as the scanner was still working.

- Answer Hi Suzy, You can use the WorkForce ES-580W to scan loose recipe sheets and categorize them into different folders. It will be a semi-manual process because you will have to use the ScanSmart software that comes with the scanner to select a folder for each batch of scans and either enter a name or let the software automatically assign incrementing numbers as file names. Questiones580w. I am trying to scan envelopes and it keeps saying "Multiple Originals are fed" which they are not. Being envelopes - they are 2 pieces of paper thick so..... Did i get the wrong machine? Can this "warning" be turned off?

- Answer Hello CajB. Since it is a thicker envelope, the ES-580W is likely detecting a double feed. To scan originals that are incorrectly detected as double feeds, select Settings > Scanner Settings > DFDS Function on the LCD screen and set it to On to disable the Detect Double Feed setting for the next scan. You can also set the Detect Double Feed setting to Off on the Main Settings tab in the Epson Scan 2 window.
