- Answer It's designed to be mounted to the windshield and you can actually purchase a wire hiding kit which is awesome! No dangling cords hanging from the windshield as its all wired through the headliner but you can purchase after market mounts that mount to the dash I'm sure. Just an assumption though... The higher it's mounted, the better visibility and range it has.
