• A:Answer It is supposed to work with every car., 1996 and newer. I have a 2005 Toyota Camry and it works on my car. The FIXD is really a big help and my sister just purchased one for her Volvo. Due to the information it gave me I was able to pass my DMV emissions test. Also, I found out the reason my check engine light was on——- loose gas cap. IAfter the diagnosis the FIXD was able to turn the check engine light off. It was a relief to find out that my check engine light on was not due to a serious problem. You will not regret the purchase.

Q: QuestionI have a short or some kind of problem. I just replaced the battery a month ago and it's already dead. I turn the radio off before I shut the engine off. No dome lights are on and no car lights are on. Will this tell me where my short(problem) is?

• A:Answer Only if the issue is generating a fault code. Go to one of the national auto parts stores and have them 1) check for codes 2) test your battery and charging system. If you've confirmed that no lights are on (check brake lights at night too!) then the next step is to have a shop do a parasitic battery drain check on your car. This test checks how much each circuit is pulling from the battery. If one circuit pulls much higher than the others this gives a clue and that circuit should be checked.
