A:AnswerHi Teacher1! Thank you for your inquiry. In researching, we were able to see that noise level ranges from low to high on this model. For proper and installation, we recommend following the Installation Guide according to your window. The air conditioner comes with a mounting hardware kit that includes screws and lock frames, which aids in mounting the air conditioner. There is a possible chance that outside bugs maybe able to go through the vent and unfortunately there is not a way to prevent that. A:AnswerYes, but you have to do a little bit of work. I have a sliding window and it works great. You do have to cut a board, or what we used was sheet rock. CUT to fit the top half of window over ac. Then tape up any holes or any area you want to secure and your all set. The good news is if you save the cut piece you can reuse it every year.
