QuestionWhen converting from frig to freezer, how long does it take and same in reverse from Freezer to frig?Just wondering exactly how long it takes to switch from one mode to the other? Is this made to constantly be switched back and forth if necessary or pretty much to just stay at one or the other?

- Answer The freezer should be located where surrounding temperature will not exceed 110ºF (43ºC). Temperatures of 32ºF (0ºC) and below will not affect freezer operation. Additional compressor heaters are not recommended. Thank you, Frigidaire

Questionwhats refrigerator temperture range?

- Answer So far the lowest I can get this unit to go in the refrigeration side is about 38 degrees. That is set to the coldest at 7. When set to 4 or 5 or 6 you get about 42 degrees. I have not tried the 1,2 or 3 settings as I feel that is not satisfactory for milk and dairy products. I have the unit on 7 the coldest to obtain the proper temperature for dairy. I am happy with this unit so far. I have not used it in the freezer mode. i would hope it can get close to 0 degrees for that purpose.

QuestionI will be using this as a fridge for cake storage/holder/cooler/chiller. Do you think it will not dry out my cake inside?I have a home base cake business. I am actually looking for the cake cooler/holder/chiller. But I was informed that the cake cooler is not allowed to keep it on for long like the normal fridge do. They advice me to get the drinks/soda cooler instead. But thinking to get this kind of fridge instead. Which one is better, pls advice. Thank you.

- Answer Hello. I am wondering if your cakes will fit. You should take the cake plates/boxes to Best Buy and see if the door will close. The temperature works great in this refrigerator. You can control yourself with the digital dial.

- Answer You could put trays on the shelves. I like the glass shelves instead of the wire ones most freezer come with. It is easier to stack things on the glass.

QuestionWhat does it cost to convert to freezer? (e.g. do I need to buy something more in order for it to be converted)?The salesman told us that we would need to purchase a different compressor in order to make the conversion. However, the answers in this forum don't address how to make the conversion. I noticed a switch in the back of the unit, which indicated to me that the unit did NOT need any additional hardware.

- Answer You don't need to do anything to make it a freezer, there's a switch that makes it either frdige or freezer, that's it, its easy.

- Answer Press R or F. Set the temperature level. That's it! Simple, easy to use. You can switch back, but I purchased two units so I would not have to. I run one R and one F.

- Answer No, in my opinion. There is no factory option for this, and glue on would be a problem. This is an entry level, base model that does a fantastic job for the money. It is not a show-piece.

- Answer No, there is only one refrigerator temperature range throughout the entire unit. It is convertible from an entire refrigerator to an entire freezer and back, but there is only 1 temperature range of about 35 degrees (32-40) when using it as an upright refrigerator.

Thanks I am relocating outside of US in Africa where they use 220V & 50Hz type of current. I can find converter/transformer to step the voltage up from 110V to 220V. But I am told that the frequency (in Hertz) cannot be changed. So I need to find an appliance that take both with both 60/50 Hz. Thanks for helping.
