“I recently purchased one of these units. Should it be extremely difficult to take out of the cage? The directions advise you to cut the foam, and straps inside the unit. However, the unit isn't coming out easily. Please advise”

It was very hard to get out .but does great job cooling
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I ended up just cutting the box at each corner to get the unit unpackaged. With help I slid the unit out of the housing and no it was not very difficult then removed the internal packing. The unit is heavy so be careful. The weight is most likely what is causing your difficulty. I had an old unit in the wall. When it was removed I found the new unit to be 1/2 inch wider so the opening was widened and the housing installed and weather sealed. The unit was slid into the housing and plugged it in and it worked like a charm. Good luck with your project.
