“I am buying this to replace a 16-year-old unit. The H & W are within 0.1" of the existing case. This depth is 6" less. Can I just slide out the old one and slide in the new one? Or would the case and bracket have to be replaced too?”

I had to replace the new sleeve and it came with better brackets than my old one. My old unit was over 15 years old and it had these huge brackets, the new unit comes with smaller and more efficient and easier to install.
