- Answer No, this model is not appropriate for a wall installation. The vents for this unit are on the sides and top of the unit and will not function properly installed in a sleeve through a wall. This unit is a window mount only.

- Answer It is lighter weight than most units so it is fairly easy to install and remove. I am 62 years old and have no problem lifting it.

QuestionGeneral ProductI am confused. Best Buy's picture of this product shows a digital control panel. I look at the same model number on a different website and is shows the product with manual controls and slightly different dimensions. How do you explain that?

- Answer There is a similar model with a digital panel (the more expensive of the two). The manual model has two dials. The top dial is a thermostat, the lower is a mode-selector/off switch.

- Answer It makes some noise. I don't think you can get an a/c that's completely quiet, at least not one that works well. I have it in my bedroom and I'm a fairly light sleeper but never wake up from the noise it makes. I absolutely love this unit and should have bought it years ago.

- Answer 1 yr parts & labor is on the Specifications tab. As an owner, I believe this to be accurate. If you only use an A/C a few months per year, it's a good unit but I reccomend waiting for it's price to go $99 or lower--this is a fairly common model. With window AC units a warranty above a year (basically, one season!) is rare at entry-level units.

- Answer Only if you intend to leave it installed year-round. During winter months I reccomend covering it with plastic or investing in a cover to prevent a draft from around the seals. This is a window-mount unit so it can be installed and removed in about ten minutes.

- Answer This would work for a double-hung window, even if it's low--but no mater what window AC you use, you'll have poor results as cold air falls. The result would almost universally be a very cold floor and hot air at standing height. For a room with that arrangement I'd reccomend investing in a split-system if you own the property (installed by a professional). You can also consider a Portable unit--they are more expensive and sacrifice some of the cooling power but the only venting you need is a flexible plastic hose with a 6" diameter that comes with a foam adapter for window installation, most accomodate lower windows and the entire unit sits indoors.

- Answer As long as there's space for the width of the unit, it will fit. But most horizontal windows don't leave enough of a gap for a window A/C. This one is very small, though. In order to block the gap that will be above the unit, use 1" foamboard. That works much better to seal it off than the flimsy slider that normally goes on either side of the unit in a vertical window.

- Answer There are vents on both sides and the top of this unit that must remain unobstructed for proper operation of the unit.
