“I read another review that cited smoke with the convection oven. How much smoke? Is it common? We have birds, so this could be a deal breaker for us. Can you see/smell the smoke? Does it set off detectors?”

if you clean your oven regularly you should have no smoke. i would say that the only reason to have smoke would be if you had a excessive amount of grease spillage and didn't at least wie some of it off before you cleaned it,
