- Answer Mine has not overheated yet. I have left it in my car at 90 degree heat and high humidity and it worked as soon as I turned in my car.

The maximum amount of footage that can be recorded or saved on a microSD card depends on the Dash Cam's video resolution setting and the size of the card. QuestionI don’t know if I’m missing something but my unit will turn off after 20 mins of driving and it’s fully charged with a 128GB so card. It also won’t turn on if it’s plugged in. I’m wondering if I got a faulty unit.

- Answer Garmin's Dash Cam devices have a Display Timeout setting which will automatically dim the display of the device after a period of inactivity. The device will continue to record video even while the screen is dimmed (indicated by a red light), provided the microSD card remains in the device and the device remains powered on.

- Answer As long as the Dash cam is powered and has a media card inserted it will automatically record in minute long video clips.

QuestionDoes this dashcam hold up in cold weather? During the winter time its usually under the freezing point for 5 months of the year.

- Answer I'm not sure of the five months. Though, I live in Texas. If the recent weather was a fair test, I'd say yes. If you aren't comfortable leaving the device in the vehicle over long periods, the magnet mount allows easy removal. I've mounted my wife's just below the windshield's AS1 line, at the rearview on her Expedition. On install, I slightly wedged the headliner board at the windshield to place a dab of Gorilla Glue silicone on the top lip with a toothpick to act as a bumper (to keep the wire in place). Makes it easy to dismount and remount the unit without having to renegotiate wire.

- Answer Yes it will void the warranty, you basically have to link it directly to the CPU of the vehicle control unit. No Roy it will not void your vehicle warranty... lol

- Answer It is reasonably clear, but reading license plates can be a challenge in the day and that's not improved with increased image noise at night. I would go with the more expensive, higher resolution camera.
