QuestionCan a route be pre programmed in this Garmin Device? Then could that route be opened and followed by a driver?

- Answer You can put the desired location in and hit "go". Then just hit the stop button and the driver can pull that route up in the "recent" option when they are ready to navigate to that location.

QuestionIt states the battery does not last more than 30 minutes. Are we able to plug this GPS into the vehicle (long enough cord hopefully) for a 5 hour trip or longer to continue with directions? And does this GPS work in all 50 States (USA)?

- Answer Battery doesn't last but you can plug into lighter in car and works great.

QuestionJust bought Garmin drivesmart 55. Opened it in my car to test the accuracy.put my home address 1 1/2 mile away. Got home. Back of Unit is extremely hot. I have had other units in the past with never this issue? Is the unit defective?

- Answer Just switch it off and when you put it back on it will continue your journey. Your choice of destination is always in the history anyway.

- Answer Not sure but I think Garmin's got you covered. My Drivesmart55 came with the car plug-in charger and the cord to connect to my computer USB for updates and charging. Works fine for me.

- Answer No, this device is designed to be paired to a Bluetooth-enabled phone, such as your smartphone for hands-free calling and to share information via the Garmin Drive app. This GPS will not pair to the Bluetooth in your vehicle, wireless speakers or any type of headset.
