A:AnswerI don't know what the Garmin 40 is. This Garmin works fine. I had a Garmin unit years ago when they first came out. Most recently I had a Magellan stolen out of my car, but Best Buy did not have one available. This Garmin has some nice features/upgrades from other GPS's I've owned. Not only shows my speed accurately, but also displays the speed limit for the zone currently passing through; Nice.
The other day I had to take a "Lyft" ride and the driver was using the GPS on her cell phone. It did not show enough detail on the lanes available and I had to advise her many times on which lane she should get into for upcoming moves.
