Can I track the distance I am running with the time I am running it   (4 Answers)

Basically I need a watch that I can "start" at my run that will tell me how far I have ran with what time I have ran it while I am still running.. I am doing my first half marathon and I need something that can help me keep track. I know I need to be within a hr for every 3miles.

      Answer

If I understand this question correctly, you can track your distance while running with the real time that you are running at. You can do this by tracking it per mile, total time, manual entry where you split your own time. You can go to settings to set up these settings on how you like to view your display. Also it would be helpful to go to YouTube and see some of the features for yourself.

Will it count steps while pushing a stroller?   (3 Answers)

I realize the GPS function can map out where you've been, but will it accurately count steps and calories if you are pushing a stroller? This has been a problem with some of the non-GPS trackers.

The Garmin Forerunner counts all your steps even if you are holding something. It works very well. I have never had any issues with the counting function whatsoever.

Does this watch calculate your calories burned very accurate if you're not using the hear rate monitor?   (4 Answers)

I just bought this watch and having an issue with tracking my calories burned. It doesn't seem to be accurate at all, I mostly do resistance training and incorporate short runs as well but by the end of my workout the calories don't add up. I'm not using a heart rate monitor with it, just relying on the watch itself.

                  Answer

Wifi and GPS are two totally different things. WiFi is what cell phones use to communicate and download data apart from the cell service provider. GPS are satellite controlled. This is only a problem on very cloudy days. If you want to know if this watch will transmit data wirelessly, No. It will not. You have to plug the watch in to get any information from the watch. I am also a runner, and the GPS works wonderfully on most days. It has a hard time registering miles on a bicycle and a elliptical. If that isn't a problem, then this watch will work fine. If she wants a watch that she can sync with her phone, then the Polar M400 may be a better option. It also has GPS, and a step counter.

System requirements for use?   (3 Answers)

I want to buy a Garmin Forerunner 15, but my Macbook is OS X version 10.6.8, which apparently does not meet the system requirements for Garmin Express. Does this mean I cannot use the watch or the Garmin Connect website at all?

                    Answer

As the Forerunner 15 is not compatible with Garmin Connect Mobile, a compatible computer would be required to upload your information to Garmin Connect. You could still use the Forerunner while working out and manually enter your workouts on Garmin Connect, however. ^DK
