• The automotive devices were built to sustain the ambient sounds of the road while driving. We have not had any customer complaints about the volume. ~JH

• The voice on the Garmin Nuvi 52LM is just fine. I can hear it and that is what is most important - that you don't have to keep your eye on the screen to get where you are going - it tells you in plenty of time when you have to make a lane change or change directions.
