- Answer Hi Maribone - You should be pleased with your choice. This model has a Dinner Plate option. Simply press Dinner Plate pad repeatedly until the number of ounces appear in the display (9, 12, or 18 oz) and then Press Start. We also offer GE® 1.6 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven JES1657SMSS (1150 Watts). It also has sensor Reheat option that senses the steam and automatically adjusts time and power for delicious cooking results. Press Reheat and Enter 1, 2, or 3 for the food code (refer to the Cooking Guide on page 9 of the Use and Care Guide for REHEAT) - 1= Pasta, 2= Fruits/Vegetables, 3=Dinner plate. QuestionHi, I purchased this microwave on December, 2018. We don't use it often, once in awhile. All of sudden, the clock/ time display went off. The microwave is working, warming the food but there is no display of time. Please advice.

- Answer Hi Lynda - The exhaust vent is on the left side if facing the door. Approximate Product Dimensions (WxHxD) (in.) 20 5/16 in x 12 in x 15 5/8 in. Microwaves need adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. We recommend 3" of clearance on both sides and the top and 1" clearance in the rear. Questionjust purchased one of these very quiet but noticed top of unit on right hand side gets hot quickly is this normal ?

- Answer Hi DB- Cooking foods in a microwave oven for an extended period of time can cause a heat transfer not only to the internal oven walls and floor, but to the external cabinet as well. Heat is generated outward from the food being cooked. Additionally, the oven's interior lamp and the magnetron tube will contribute to external heat transfer. This condition is considered normal. It should be noted that the internal and external temperatures after extended cooking will vary, naturally, depending on the preparation and the length of the cooking time. Also, microwaves need adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents; 3" of clearance on both sides and the top and 1" clearance in the rear. QuestionIs it possible to remove perforated black inside door covering to allow for cleaning of the glass?

- Answer Hi Lazza- Thanks for choosing GE! The inside of the microwave door is covered with a thick, clear plastic sheet that should not be removed. The purpose of this plastic is to prevent any interference with the metal screen in the door. This covering is glued on. Should this be removed or become damaged, the microwave should not be used and service should be contacted. On some microwaves, there may be a white plastic strip (or tape) on the inside of the door where the window meets the door frame. This is a protective film and should be removed. Keep in touch!
