  • QuestionHow long is the power cord? CN an extension cord be used if otshort?

    Asked by Unnie.

    • Answer Hello - We'd love to assist with your question. The power cord is approximately 39" long. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded. Do not use an extension cord. If the power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance. We're glad to help anytime. • QuestionCan this model be set for heating by seconds, for example set to cook/heat for 25 seconds or 1 minute and 10 seconds?

    Asked by clavebeat.

    • Answer Yes this can do almost anything. I warm my creamer before drinking my coffee because I like really hot coffee. I started out with 10 Sec and then went down several seconds till I got the corrected warmer. I would suggest you start with a container of water then heat till it it right.! This microwave is fast and gets the job done quickly. 100% more than my old one

  • QuestionDoes this have a prop 65 warning? Yes or no?

    Asked by Idontwantcancer.

    • Answer Hey there and thanks for reaching out! We don’t see that this microwave has a Prop 65 warning. We comply with all federal, state, and international requirements regarding hazardous substances and meet those standards. We also comply with federal and state chemical labeling laws, like California Proposition 65. The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean the product is unsafe or poses a health risk. Over 800 chemicals are on this list, including wood dust, nickel (found in stainless steel), nicotine, and alcohol. Additionally, even inaccessible parts can create a requirement to include the warning. We can understand our customers concerns; however, we do not provide detailed information about what causes the Prop 65 warning to apply. -Gina@GEA

  • QuestionDoes the GE 1.1 cu. Ft microwave BPA safe? Any cancer causing elements?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello- We appreciate your question and are happy to help. GE Appliances evaluates the safety of materials and chemicals used in GE brand appliances through our hazardous substances management process. We have voluntarily decided to identify, reduce and eliminate to the extent possible materials of concern from our appliance products and parts, even when not required by regulation. We do not comment specifically on product content, which is confidential, however our processes help ensure that all GE Appliance products meet applicable hazardous substances requirements and our own product safety and environmental standards. ~We comply with federal and state chemical labeling laws. One such law is California Proposition 65, enacted by California in 1986 (Prop 65). This state law requires companies to provide a warning for thousands of consumer products, foods, prescription drugs, alcoholic beverages, enclosed parking facilities, amusement parks, furniture, and other everyday items. For more than a decade, we have complied with the Prop 65 requirements by providing a warning in the owner's manual. Starting in early August 2018, we began adding new labels to our products to comply with the new Prop 65 requirements. Some plastics aren't considered microwave safe and aren't recommended to use inside your microwave. Please be sure to check the bottom of the dish. If you have any other questions, please let us know. We are here to help! Joyce@GEA
