Q: QuestionI see the overall outside dimensions of the JVM6175DKWW microwave, but I wanted to confirm or know the exact back height. On some over the range microwaves units, the back height can be a little less than the overall height of the entire microwave.

Q: QuestionMy 36 inch JVM3670BF001 died. What can I replace it with? It is built in. Would a 30 Inch replacement work? Replacing the 36 Inch with a 30 inch seems like the way to go. Would the mounting brackets and hood be compatible?

• A:Answer Hello Lynn - We are very sorry to hear about the passing of your microwave. It would be a pleasure to help you find a replacement. This model JVM6175DKBB is an excellent choice. We do not offer 36" modes any longer but do offer side filler kits for just this situation. The part is JX36BBB and available at Best Buy to cover the extra three inches on both sides. The new model will come with new mounting brackets and serves as the exhaust hood to the cooktop below. Let us know if you have any more questions. - John@GEA

• A:Answer Hi MarkD, thanks for reaching out! All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy! - NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. Q: QuestionOur GE JVM1190 Over the range microwave just died. Will this model fit into the same space? It appears that it may stick out further and drop down lower. Will I need to cut the backsplash to install it given the size of our current model? Thanks.

• A:Answer Hi, I was charged $139.99 for installation in Sept. 2020. My microwave doesn't vent outside, it may cost more if you have one that vents outside. My old microwave was also a GE and the exact same size so the installers used the existing brackets. I believe it you put the item in your cart and start the buying process, you will be able to see the installation prices before having to commit to the purchase. I was also $24.99 to take a way old microwave. Hope that helps!

Q: Questionour current microwave is a Spacemaker XL. about 14 inches deep. all new models are deeper. this model 15 inch. Video says 30 inches min. from stove top, but we only have about 16 now. is there a problem, assuming we have sufficient space for pots, etc.

According to the installation instructions, cabinet depth should be at max 13". a 15" cabinet depth requires additional steps and an additional kit (JX15BUMPWW/BB). The distance from the top of the stovetop to the bottom edge of the cabinet needs to be 30" minimum. If not, then this will cause issues due to the heat of the cooktop. Q: QuestionI need an 1100 Watt microwave over the stove microwave. Do you have one or can mine be fixed? The sensors in the door are not working and they won’t let it run. It is only 4 years old and is a gold series whirlpool.
