A:AnswerYou will need to measure your existing opening and find a microwave that will fit.
All stainless models have fitment issues because the stainless trim is added to the machine making a bigger trim opening necessary.
GE will not sell trim kits for countertop machines - which is what this one is.
A:AnswerNo. GE says this is a countertop only model and will not sell a trim kit for it.
You can custom make a kit but you will need to know a shop that does that kind of work.

A:AnswerAssume your question is rhetorical. However, I would suggest that you call GE and see if they would be willing to extend your coverage those couple of weeks. I did this with a GE dishwasher that was a month out of warranty several years ago and they did take care of it. What helped me was that I had registered the dishwasher and the 5 other GE appliances we bought at the same time and could honestly say that I was a loyal GE customer. As for this microwave, we just bought this model to replace a nearly identical (i.e. the same except for the look of the door and control panel) that broke after 14 years. No doubt that things are being made cheaper, but this technology is so mature that one breaking after a year would not be typical at all. Good luck!
A:AnswerWe are sorry to hear that your microwave has reached the end of life. When replacing the microwave then the trim kit will also need to be replaced as any new microwave is not compatible with the old trim kit. The good thing is that the new microwave and new trim kit will fit in the same opening of your cabinet. The new model microwave is PEB7227ANDD and then either Trim Kit Required - JX7227SLSS (Stainless steel) for 27" wide cabinet or JX7230SLSS (Stainless steel) for 30" wide cabinet. By the way the microwave will be black and then the trim kit is stainless steel in color. Hope this helps. Geoff@GEA
A:AnswerHello- Thank you for contacting us. We appreciate your interest in replacing your current GE built-in microwave with another one, and are glad to help you. Due to different configurations and design changes involving airflow and heat issues, new microwaves are only approved for installation with current trim kits. If you have any questions in the future, please let us know. We are here to help! Joyce@GEA
A:AnswerHello- We appreciate your interest in our 2.0 Cubic Ft. Capacity Countertop microwave. This is an excellent model with plenty of room. It isn't finger print resistant though, it is stainless steel. It is very easy to keep clean though. We always recommend spraying your soft cloth and then wipe dry immediately. Be sure not to spray any solution directly onto the controls. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are always happy to help! Joyce@GEA
