  • QuestionDoes the washer tub have stabilizer straps installed on it like the larger washer units? If not can they be installed to help with out of balance loads that seem to make a lot of noise during the spin cycle.

    Asked by Robert.

    • Answer Hi Robert - Yes, all GE Appliances washer tubs move freely within our exclusive auto balance suspension system. It is a rod and spring floating suspension, designed to withstand extensive out of balance situations without the need for an "out of balance" switch. During an out of balance load, the basket is allowed to "float" forward and backward, side to side, and up and down. As a result, the clothes basket can move freely, and this is normal. Also, the balance ring is an enclosed plastic container that is partially filled with a salt water solution. The two halves of the balance ring are welded together to form a permanent seal. It is attached to the inner clothes basket and allows the basket to spin smoothly if an uneven load creates an out-of-balance situation. Thanks for your interest in GE. • QuestionDoes the washer and dryer run off 110 regular plug? Or what is it?

    Asked by KathyJo.

    • Answer Hi KathyJo. Good question. This appliance should be connected to an individual, properly-grounded branch circuit with 120/240V single-phase 60 Hz electrical service and should be protected by 30-amp time-delay fuses or circuit breakers. This appliance is manufactured with neutral connected to the frame. Power cord should be purchased separately. - NOTE: These appliances are not approved for 120-volt operation. We hope that this helps! Stay safe and healthy.

  • Questionwhat wattage is it? Does the dryer plug into the dryer?

    Asked by Julio.

    • Answer Hi Julio - Thanks for considering GE Model GUD24ESSMWW! Unitized washer dryer units only have one power cord. There is not a separate cord for the washer and the dryer. The washer does not plug into the dryer. The power cord is sold separately. Electric models should be connected to a dedicated 120/240V 30-amp time-delay fuse or circuit breaker. The 240 will power the dryer, and the unit internally steps it down to 110/120V for the washer. • QuestionIs there a proper way to select the water level? I know its supposed to sense the amount of clothes that's in there and adjust but the level is way too low for the amount of clothes in there. the clothes at the top doesn't even get wet. How can i fix this

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your GE Laundry Center. We are happy to provide assistance. The Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary. This model has auto-load sensing so the washer will automatically measure the load size and add just the right amount of water. The water level cannot be selected manually. The agitator is designed to drive the clothes down into the water for thorough cleaning. You can also choose Deep Rinse option even if you are not using a fabric softener. Overloading may negatively impact wash performance. Load dry items loosely, no higher than the top row of holes in the washer basket. We suggest viewing the illustrations of water levels on page 11 of the Use and Care Manual at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90581-5.PDF - Choosing Bulky Items cycle provides a max fill water level to match bulky items and incorporates a deep fill rinse to effectively rinse bulky items. We hope this is helpful. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
