  • QuestionI just bought this $1000+ freezer, And the lid does not stay open when you lift it. Why???

    Asked by 9999.

    • Answer Hello. We appreciate you reaching out, though we hate to hear you’ve had an issue with your lid not staying open when you lift it; we know this must be frustrating, especially when the unit is new. We can advise the lids of our chest freezers are designed to stop at around 80 degrees; we don’t expect this model to have an issue with the lid not staying open, and we regret any inconvenience this has caused. You may want to contact our service department so a technician can examine the lid for any possible issues - that department is available at 1-800-432-2737. We hope this matter is resolved soon, so you can properly enjoy your new freezer. If you have any other concerns or questions, we’re happy to assist any time. All the best! -Sarah@GEA

  • QuestionIs this freezer considered garage ready?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello. Thanks for reaching out about this freezer! Your freezer should be conveniently located for day-to-day use in a dry, well-ventilated room. We recommend that you do not store the freezer where temperatures go below 0°F (-18°C) or above 110°F (43°C), because it will not maintain proper temperatures, nor where it can be exposed to rain, water or direct sunlight. We hope this helps, and if you have any additional questions, please reach out. We are happy to help!- Kianna@GEA

  • QuestionHow to adjust so lid stays open.

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi there - Thanks for asking this question! All chest freezers have a stopping point for the lid so it does not go all the way back and hit the wall behind it. Lids generally pivot on hinges and pistons to help raise and stop them at about 80 degrees. We do not have an approved way to adjust this and we do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Best wishes! -Mikayla@GEA
