A:Answer Hello, and thanks for reaching out to us about this ice maker issue; we are very sorry to hear the switch is broken, and know how frustrating that must be. As the ice maker has broken, we can advise the part number for that is WR30X35287. It is available to view on our GE Parts website, if you need to arrange for a new ice maker. If you think service may be needed, you can reach that department at 1-800-432-2737. In the meantime, the ice maker is meant to stop automatically when the level of ice in the bin reaches the feeler arm, so it will not continue making ice indefinitely. Please note that if you are still using the ice maker and removing ice from the bin, it will start again for long enough to fill back up.
