“We have an 18 month old Model GTUP270EMOWW unitized unit that has worked quite well. We have moved to a new home that has natural gas, but no 240 Volt We would like to continue to use the washing machine component of the unitized set. The question is: Can we have our electrician internally disconnect the upper Electric Dryer component of the unitized set and replace the 240 Volt plug with a 120 Volt plug to allow continued use of the lower Washing Machine component?”

• Hello, I certainly understand your desire to continue using your washer. We cannot recommend this type of modification of your appliance, as it could void any warranty. We also have not tested it in this application. Maybe you could sell it, and use the proceeds towards a new unit. The unitized models are very easy to sell. Good luck. Lisa from GE.
