QuestionCan this dryer be installed “ventless” i have a machine now that i am retiring that is ventless…i had purchased a ventless kit. Does this one have that option?

- Answer Hi there, and thanks for your interest in this model! This particular combination model cannot be installed ventless; we regret any inconvenience that may cause. The model does allow for either side or bottom venting. We do have some ventless dryer options, including GFT14ESSMWW, if you’d like to review whether that model may fit your needs. We certainly understand your concern over whether the unit will work in your space, and we’re glad to advise this model would be ideal for an apartment installation as long as you work within the guidelines listed in the Installation Instructions. If you’d like to view those, you can do so on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page; the ‘Owner Support’ option under the picture of the appliance will take you to the document. QuestionThe washer is working but the dryer isn't working at all, what could cause this?

- Answer Hello. We appreciate you reaching out, though we hate to hear the dryer isn’t working properly; we know any issue with the appliance would be concerning, and we’re glad to advise. If the dryer isn’t working at all, you may want to check the plug as well as the fuse and/or circuit breaker to ensure enough power is reaching the unit (electric dryers often use two fuses/breakers, so if only one is working that may cause issues). We do have Troubleshooting Tips starting on page 21 of the manual as well; if you’d like to view those, the manual is available on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. If you aren’t able to resolve the issue, our Service Department is available at 1-800-432-2737, and a technician would be glad to examine the unit. We hope this issue with the dryer is solved soon, so you can enjoy the full combo unit again. QuestionHow many gallons of water is used for a complete wash and rinse

- Answer Hello- Thanks so much for checking with us. We are happy to help! This model uses approximately 15 gallons on washer and 6 gallons on rinse on the Heavy (Max) load size. QuestionSocks periodically drop outside of the drum. How can they be retrieved?

- Answer We pop the front off occasionally when the unit is completely off and retrieve anything that has been eaten and check to make sure all belts and other parts are still attached properly. It’s quick and easy.

- Answer I believe most if not all washers spin longer on the rinse cycle. This is in order to remove as much moisture as possible for drying or it would take much longer.

- Answer Could be a problem as the usual 4” dryer vent hose comes out of the back and you need room for that without crushing it or being too close to any combustible surface

- Answer Hello, there. We appreciate you reaching out. GE Appliances offers a universal washing machine floor tray that helps prevent floor damage from scuffs, spills, and overflows with a durable plastic pan that fits securely under the washer. The model number is PM7X1.The tray also has the capacity to have a drain hose added to it of you want to have the tray direct water into a floor drain. There are threads on the drain port, and the tray includes a PVC drain fitting, washer and lock nut to connect it to the hose. We hope this helps!-Kianna@GEA

QuestionHappy with this machine for eight months. One day the balance got off and it shook so hard we had to turn it off, pull a dripping wet blanket out, and wash again. Now the problem happens every time we wash a blanket, even with small loads! What to do?
