QuestionLove the unit! But when it is in the wash cycle it agitates for about 10 minutes then stops for about 10 seconds then starts for about 10 seconds. Does this for about 3 minutes then continuous agitation for about 5 more minutes. Is this normal?

- Answer Hi - Thank you for having purchased a GE laundry center. When the Precise Fill water level is selected it is not unusual for the the tub to turn as it fills to sense the size of the load to ensure the proper amount of water is being used. Also, certain cycles incorporate short periods of "soak" to provide the best possible cleaning performance. When soaking, the washer will stop agitating. If you do not feel this describes the manner in which your washer is operating, we recommend calling GE service at 1-800-432-2737 to schedule an appointment to have the washer checked. QuestionI currently have a 220 outlet for my washer/dryer that just broke, and i dont know electrical stuff also. Is this setup 220 as well???

- Answer Yes - pretty much all dryers are 220 volts. A possible issue is that the old receptacle “could be” different than a new plug (this machine doesn’t come with a new cord/plug) - so on mine, I disconnected old wire/cord, and connected it to new machine

QuestionThe lid won't unlock. We tried a few workaround and still nothing. Redid the load thinking after spin it would unlock. Unplugged for a few minutes but still locked. Help! TIA!

- Answer Hello- Thanks so much for your interest. It does have Tap Cold on the dial. Tap Cold uses the incoming tap water, which can provide energy savings. For all other temperature selections, a mixture of hot and cold water is used to achieve the ideal temperature for each temperature setting. QuestionIs there a detergent dispenser on the GE stackable washer/dryer Auto load sensing. I don't have a booklet with instructions. I cant lift the lid after it start washing to check the if it's enough detergent!

QuestionI’ve GE Stackable GUD27ESSMWW. I’ve been using this for years with no problem but the issue that I have now is with the washer. When it’s done washing, all my clothes come up very wrinkle. I’ve set up for Color (slow spin), warm water, not over load.

QuestionHow long is each cycle? We put some clothes to wash for the first time but the cycle did not drain. The hose is installed correctly. It has the ability to drain because it did drain when I tried “drain and spin”. Unsure what’s going on with it…

- Answer This washing machine takes about 20 minutes longer to wash my clothes than my previous machine did. I’ve never timed the individual cycles, but it does still push water out all the way through the wash, rinse, and spin cycles on a normal wash

QuestionSo.... unit depth is 30 7/8 PLUS the 4 inches that washer sits away from wall? SO 34 7/8" if I want to close the door????

- Answer Hi - We're glad you reached back out and apologize for any misunderstanding with regard to the dimensions of this unit and any needed clearances. The dryer is deeper in the rear than the washer. The overhang is 4" past the back panel of the washer, which means it sticks out past the vent, electrical, and plumbing connections. The dryer can sit up against a wall without adding any extra depth to the unit. The overall depth of 30 7/8" includes the overhang. The current dimensional diagram available is not correct and is in the process of being corrected. Questionre: depth at 30" 7/8. What is the clearance for the back & front of the unit? Will a clearance more than zero for the front or back add to the 30"7/8 unit depth to house it, to use it? This would be in a closet with bi-fold doors.

- Answer Hi - Thank you for reaching out regarding our Unitized washer/dryer combination unit. When installed in a closest we do recommend an additional 1" clearance in the front and at the top. If the unit will be vented out the side, please add 3" to the room depth. No other clearances are required. QuestionLooks to me that the links to the manuals in the Q & A section dont link to the correct machine (dimensions) and/or the images dont match the actual machine (dryer overhangs washer). Everyone of them should be verified.. GUD27ESSMWW

- Answer Hi - Thank you for reaching out and letting us know about the issue with the image shown in the specifications for this model. You are correct. The diagram doesn't show the overhang of the dryer in the rear. The good news is all dimensions are correct with the exception of the dimension to the centerline of the vent. Questiondoes this dryer have a cool function? We airdry most laundry then put it on a cool dry cycle for 20 minutes to remove dust.

- Answer Hello there - Great question! This unit's dryer does not have a cool function. This model has Quick Fluff, which is a timed cycle with no heat. This cycle gives excellent results when tumbling pillows, comforters, etc. No heat is used - only room temperature air is circulated through the dryer. QuestionI’m confused by the depth requirements. If there is a 4 inch space with the overhang, why do you need additional space to side vent. Will the dryer still be up against the wall? I only have 31” of depth but probably can’t make it fit if I need 34”.

- Answer Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize for the confusion. For side venting, 3 additional inches of room depth are needed versus the unit depth shown in the specifications. The vent needs to go down first and then to the left or to the right. Consequently, you will need 34" of depth overall which includes the elbow needed to side vent. - Answer Hi - Your model offers load sensing and adaptive fill to provide just the right amount of water for best performance and low water usage. The wash basket will turn briefly and assess the weight of the load. It will also do this after the load is saturated with water to assess how absorbent the load is and will add additional water if needed.
