A:AnswerHey, thanks for reaching out with this question. Minimum clearance to combustible surfaces and for air opening are: 0” both sides, 1” rear and 1” top. We appreciate your consideration of this awesome dryer and hope you have a great day! -Gina@GEA
A:AnswerWell, it depends on how well they were spun dry in washer. Plus what setting did you have them on? Mixed loads dries most things the quickest. Plus are you rinsing off the cone
every month that is on the bottom left front? But overall it can take a little bit longer to dry heavy things than with a conventional dryer. Your not pumping your houses conditioned air to the outside then re heating or re cooling it.
A:AnswerYou are talking about a ventless dryer, right? There is a loop that heats air and a loop that cools it down for condensing the water out of the air that was heated up. There will be hot spots I imagine.
A:AnswerHi Jw - Thanks for viewing GE Model GFT14ESSMWW! This is a ventless condenser dryer. A Ventless Condenser Dryer does not rely on a vent system to remove the moisture from the dryer. Instead, the dryer condenses moisture into water using a dual airflow system then pumps it into the house standpipe or into a closed system reservoir that can be emptied. Condenser dryers are just as effective as drying clothes as vented models; however, because of the nature of this type of dryer, it will take longer to dry than a vented dryer. No hot air will be emitted into the room. A:AnswerHi FDS14 - Thanks for choosing GE! This ventless condenser dryer
can be installed conveniently in a closet, placed under a counter or stacked in a corner without the need to vent externally. Also, a drain hose is not required. There are two options for draining water out of the ventless condenser dryer:
1. Removable water tank in the dryer. Remove the condensed water in the tank after every drying cycle. 2. Drain directly out of unit into a standpipe or washstand through the included drain hose (wire ties also included). Standpipe or washstand should be 36-58" off the ground or platform to accommodate both washer and dryer drains in all configurations. Dryer drain hose can drain alongside the washer hose. Do not push either drain hose into the standpipe any further than 4". Pushing further into standpipe can cause leaking. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
A:AnswerBest Buy website hiccup makes it required. for all dryer installation regardless of venting. I just returned the obviously unused kit after installation.
