“Is there any type of lint catcher? The HE washer I have now has nothing and I hate the thing. Old washer caught lint around the fill cup for softener in agitator.”

Hi JAmoss- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for viewing our Top Load Washers! We have made use of several washer lint filtering systems over the years. In newer models, the fine mesh filters were removed from under the agitator when it was found that a newly designed pump and large holes in the hub under the agitator did a better job of removing lint and preventing clogs in the drain system. The drain system allows water to flow through the basket and out the bottom of the tub pulling lint, hair, and small particles with the water. Most lint consists of cotton fibers, which are biodegradable over a short period of time and cause no concerns with the drain. Also, there is no maintenance required on this system.
