Hi - Thanks for reaching out to us. We do not recommend manually adding water to the wash cycle. GE Appliances washer models meet or exceed the latest energy and water efficiency requirements. Therefore, you may notice that your washer fills with less water than your prior model did. This is normal. GE Appliances washers are designed for and are thoroughly tested using modern water levels and will provide exceptional cleaning. Press the Deep Fill button once before starting the cycle to add 3 gallons of water to the wash load. Once the washer has stopped filling, you can press it again to add 3 more gallons. Or, press and hold Deep Fill button for 3 seconds to fill the washer to the maximum water level (approximately 26 gallons).
