Hi MALLORY- Thanks for choosing GE! We are sorry to hear of this experience and suggest to reset the electronics: Unplug washer, wait 2 minutes, plug back in and press Start. If there is no power, check house circuit breakers/fuses. Replace fuses or reset breaker. If the motor needs to be reset please view the following link- TOP LOAD WASHER MOTOR RESET: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17391 - A qualified service technician is required for an accurate diagnosis. If you need further assistance, we encourage you to contact GE Appliance Service at 1-800-432-2737 or conveniently schedule a warranty appointment online: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/service/ - We hope this is helpful. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
