Q: QuestionI recently got the JGBS30DEKWW but I can’t get it to bake it only has a broil label the bottom of my cakes keep getting burnt while the top isn’t cooked how do I get it to bake and not just broil?
Asked by Danay.
- A:Answer Hey Danay! Congratulations on your new range. We appreciate you taking a moment to reach out to us. We're sorry you're having a difficult time with your oven controls. We know how frustrating it is to burn anything, especially a cake, and we're happy to help. You should be able to bake foods by pressing the Bake button on your range. The upper heating element is the broiler and this provides direct heat similar to a grill. Many people use their broiling feature to brown or caramelize foods. We suggest making sure you have selected the correct cooking mode at the right temperatures before contacting service. If you still believe you're having temperature issues, you can take advantage of the warranty and schedule service with a certified GEA technician by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We hope this is helpful information! We're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA

Q: QuestionThe oven pilot light went out on my range and I can't locate it by looking to relight. Can you tell me where it is and how to relight it? Thanks
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer On modern gas appliances there's most likely not a running " pilot" light to relight per se, as the gas valve used a electronic spark to lite the burner as needed . If you are having issues with your oven not lighting, it's is most likely a malfunctioning or clogged gas valve outlet

Q: Questiondoes the oven have a thermocouple the glo bar comes on but the burner does not come on
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your GE Gas Range. We are sorry to hear the oven is not heating and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. The glo-bar in the oven will cycle on and off with the oven temperature. When it cycles on to heat, the gas valve opens and the gas is ignited. When the oven is at temperature, the gas valve closes there are no longer flames. You only use gas and see flames in the oven when the oven is actively heating. A technician may be required for an accurate diagnosis. Q: QuestionIs this digital?
Asked by Dee.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 4.8 Cu. Ft. Freestanding Gas Range - Black
- A:Answer Hi Dee - Thanks for viewing GE! Model JGBS30DEKBB does not have a digital clock/timer or digital controls. The gas burners and oven are controlled by knobs on the front panel of the range. The range does have an electronic ignition system that requires a 120V/15Amp electrical connection. The automatic pilotless ignition (also called automatic electric or automatic electronic ignition) eliminates the need to light the burners. It also saves money by using less gas than a standing pilot range. Because this system has no standing pilot light, no gas is being used unless it is needed. With the spark igniter system, electricity simply sparks when the control is turned to the LITE position. Gas is simultaneously released and ignites when it comes in contact with the spark. Should there be a power failure, the oven will not function but the burners may be lit with a match. Simply hold the match near the burner, turn the control to LITE. Exercise extreme caution when lighting the burners in this manner. If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to ask, we are also happy to help at GEAppliances.com! Sue
